After surviving what should have been a fatal attack, Lucy is recruited into shadow organization of vampire hunters. Though she finds it impossible to believe that vampires exist, Lucy soon learns that the real monsters are not the creation of vivid imaginations, but evolutionary advantage.
But vampires aren’t the only ones with evolution on their side.
Because of her own anomalous existence she should be the ultimate weapon, but Lucy is not a soldier and vampire hunting does not come naturally. Her dangerous improvisations are quickly called out by Andre Garnier, a hunter and the nephew of the organization's leader, who makes no secret of the fact that he is less than pleased with Lucy's recruitment.
Adding to their worries is the looming threat of The Eyes of The Sun, the oldest and most dangerous collective of vampires, who are once again gaining ground and have infiltrated the very organization that is trying to stop them. Lucy and Andre are forced to work together to keep New Orleans safe and stay alive. Unfortunately, The Eyes of The Sun have an agenda that no one was expecting.
