When Esperanza finds out that the reason her mother never came to visit is that she was captured in the magical realm, Esperanza and her new friend Caspen travel back to the magical realm to save her. Esperanza has always felt like more of a boy than a girl, and after she saves the Prince's life, he offers her his hand in marriage; instead, she asks him to make her a Knight. On paper, at least, Esperanza is finally a boy. But will Caspen accept her new orientation? And will Esperanza, now the Knight Perry, be able to save his mother before it's too late?
