Rylie Novak moves to the town of Woodhaven,Washington in the hopes of making a better life for herself and her fifteen-year-old son, Jesse. It doesn't take long for her to realize fate has other ideas. Almost immediately, Jesse ends up under the scrutiny of the local police department—specifically, Detective Cole Brisette. Sparks fly between Rylie and Cole immediately, but when tragedy strikes and a popular student is gunned down in cold blood, they are both thrust into a nightmare—a nightmare that eventually lands Jesse right at its center.
