Three Lights Over Cerulean Bay by Linda J. French
A failed adoption and death of the child, an unfaithful egocentric husband, betrayal of a sister, and years of insecurities are all enough to make a woman want to run away from home. That’s exactly what Abby Reynolds does. With no destination in mind, she looks at an old worn and torn road atlas where the name Cerulean Bay pops out at her. I loved that crayon color, she thought. All the while her critical voice does what it does, criticize, scold, reprimand. However, she does what she normally does and ignores it.

Abby begins to question her decision upon arriving in the little fishing village with the pretty name in a torrential storm. The first person she meets is Gabriel, destitute and despondent. Ridden with grief and guilt, Gabe can’t seem to get a break. Though his plight is his own undoing, he begins to recognize his own worth through the eyes of others.

Meanwhile, things don’t improve too much for Abby as she has a close encounter with a mud puddle and Beck Smith, a man with his own demons to battle.

The lives of these three tormented people intertwine with every emotion. You’ll love them, hate them, feel sorry for them and want to give them a good talking to, and the little village of Cerulean Bay will wrap itself around your heart.
