When farmer's daughter Harriet fled her seaside home to be a governess in London, the last thing she expected was to attend lavish balls and parties dressed in elaborate gowns. However, Harriet's uncanny resemblance to Lady Virginia Sackville leads Virginia's mother, the duchess, to enlist Harriet's aid as Virginia's double in high society London to keep Virginia's pregnancy a secret. As Harriet comes to know Virginia she becomes determined to reunite Virginia with her lover before their child is born, but she'll need to seek help from her childhood sweetheart, manage an unwanted suitor, appease an angry duchess, and thwart the plans of a dangerous meddling rake in order to do so--and the clock is ticking.
