Second Chance Snack Bar: An Honest Attractions Book by Marilyn Foxworthy
The three women headed my way were as out of place here as I was. I hated these things. I rarely bothered to come. Maybe I didn't actually hate them, but I didn't really enjoy them. I thought of myself as a self-confident introvert. The Friday night neighborhood dinner parties weren't all that fun for me. Tonight might be different. I'd try not to be noticed by the hostess. But the three women had definitely noticed me. They came at me like I was the most fascinating man in the room. After quick introductions, one of them asked me to tell them something "real" about myself. What was the most recent movie I'd seen, and why was it important? How had it impacted me? Well, the last movie I'd seen was a stupid sci-fi caveman flick, and it had given me things to think about. As I described the film, it gave all four of us things to think about. That was Friday night. Sunday morning, they picked me up, and we went out together for the day. We were still thinking about the movie. And they wanted to try an experiment related to caveman culture. The first rule was that we had to be absolutely honest with each other.
