Freya's Unexpected Life by Jean L. Kuhnke
First she lost her mother and then a few years later her father was killed while they worked on a tugboat. Freya, with no place to go was allowed to remain on the tugboat working and cooking for the crew. It wasn't the best environment for the girl, but it was better than turning her out to fend for herself or worse, putting her in one of those homes for parentless girls. Freya was already too old to accept that for her life.
Then another tragedy struck and she was involved in a trafficking encounter where she became the victim of abduction. Her life quickly changed and she was forced to relocate for her safety. A new life, a new place to live, and a new name. Almost new.
