It's all Mom's fault. She canceled our return flights without telling us so that we could drive home with the cuckoo clock her aunt gave her taking up the front seat. That relegated me and my stepdad to the backseat. At first the angry tension in the car has me sitting stiffly in my seat, but eventually, I get bored enough to fall asleep. When I wake up, it's with my head cushioned on my stepdad's lap and something digging into my cheek. I think I just figured out a way to relieve all this tension.
