Truth Hurts is a story about a woman who moves across the country to leave behind her old life in lei of the new, hoping to leave trauma, loss, and personal heartbreak in her past. Sylvianna Dunlap takes everything she's been through and makes something of herself despite where she came from, proudly becoming one of three Assistant District Attorney's in Wilmington North Carolina. But when she finally decides to put old trauma in her past to rest by taking a final trip to commemorate the loss of her sister, Sylvie finds herself in the target of someone's scope. Struggling to make sense of the past and melding the present with what used to be, Sylvie and her friends must find out what secrets lay hidden in the rugged mountains she grew up in before it's too late. Lucky for her, her old high school friend, Duncan Jamison, is more than willing to step up and help out. The only question left, is whether he has too many secrets of his own.
