Zaya ran away from home. From the home that hadn’t really been home for years. Not since her parents experienced what it was like to live among the elite. She missed her old life, missed being able to make her own choices, but like her mom she couldn’t reap the benefits of the same money she complained about. So, she made a plan and left.

The only problem? That plan didn’t go past ditching the cell phone, cutting her cards, and driving until her car broke down. It’s three days of driving, sleeping in her car or cheap motels, and crossing state lines. Paxton Lawson has always been the go-to. Working on the ranch while attending university, heading up drills in the soccer practices, maintaining her high GPA; it all gets overwhelming sometimes. She just wants a space where she can let go and focus on what she wants now and again. But she can’t tell her family and friends that. They depend on her.

That changes when she meets Zaya. Paxton’s first assumption of a rich city girl fantasizing about living that ‘small town life’ changes when Zaya proves herself with a hands-on rescue.
