It’s Christmas Eve, and Adeline’s a damsel in distress. It’s snowing like crazy in the Blue Ridge, and her car’s in a ditch, on a dark, lonely mountain road.

Fortunately, help arrives.

Unfortunately, it arrives in the worst possible good old Saint Nick. Underneath the fake beard and red-and-green camo is Grady, a man who’s hot, heroic, and who never called Adeline after a quick tryst at a summer wedding. Not that Adeline cares, it’s just—why ask for her number if he wasn’t going to call?

Taking home the girl who gave him a fake number and broke his heart wasn’t in Grady’s plans for Christmas Eve, but it’s not like he can leave her to freeze to death. He’s Santa Claus, for crying out loud, bringer of merriment and joy. Adeline will just have to suffer through Christmas Eve with his family—carols and candy canes and all—because even Grady isn’t heroic enough to drive back through that.

And maybe, between the ugly sweaters and the sugar cookies and the mistletoe, Grady and Adeline can find the true meaning of Christmas after all.
