Christmas Hunting by Rowan Gracemill
Polly Crane works in one of the smaller hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia, dreaming of what it would be like to leave the city. Her choices are limited as an orphan. That doesn’t stop her from hoping that she’ll be able to find a way to leave. It’s all a matter of perspective, and she’s been saving money for that reason.

Anthony Hunt wants to find a wife. In Amarillo, Texas – the much-lesser-known city by the border instead of the one in the middle of the state – he finds himself lonely as the sheriff. It’s a good job, but he wants a family. Even though his sister lives with him, he takes out an ad in The Matrimonial Times.

When Polly answers this ad, her hopes are strengthened. If he gives her the money, she can get out of Atlanta without having to worry about saving the money herself.

Likewise, Anthony finds himself falling for this matter-of-fact orphan who has nowhere else to call home currently. He decides to invite her for the holidays and see where their relationship goes after that.

When he learns that a fugitive is in the area, he must search and make sure nothing goes awry. Polly, too, hopes that he’ll find this fugitive, but being so close to Mexico, the chances are slim. Will they survive this odd obstacle, or will their relationship fall apart before it has a chance to blossom?
