When my little brother calls me to come save him from a bad date, I know exactly how to make him feel better. He needs the same things now as he did when I used to take care of him as a little boy.

Comfort food, like chicken nuggies or mac and cheese.

A fun movie, even if he’s embarrassed because he likes the animated ones best.

A bubble bath. A story. Bedtime with one of his plushies…

Weird? Nah. That’s just Parker.

But tonight, he slips and calls me “Daddy,” just like he used to when he was small. Back before he realized I wasn’t Daddy, just his much older big brother.

I don’t mind, though.

In fact, I think I might like it a little too much…
