When nerdy and discontented 21-year-old Computer Science graduate student Noah Foster stops off at an estate sale one afternoon on his way home from University, he purchases what initially appears to him to be a sort of live-action-roleplaying prop facsimile of an old witch's spellbook (of the kind you might expect to find being sold in a booth at your local Renaissance Faire) only to be surprised and astonished once he gets it back home later in the evening later in the evening to discover that it's no fake, but the real, actual working grimoire of a mid-seventeenth century witch from old New England! Even though he cannot read Latin (the language that the spells are all written down in), his curiosity gets the better of him, and investigating contents of the spellbook, he comes across an incantation which purports to be able to make the caster 'irresistible' to members of the opposite sex.

Being a lifelong virgin, Noah foolishly attempts to cast the spell upon himself (expecting to be transformed into a taller, hotter, 'hunkier' version of his existing male self) without bothering to fully translate it first, but is disappointed when nothing initially seems to happen.

A few nights later, however, when the full moon comes peeking up over the horizon, Noah is caught off-guard when the life-and-body-altering magics of the spell which he so unwisely unleashed upon himself abruptly kick in, transforming various aspects of his existing life and identity all around him even as he races back home to his apartment. To his steadily mounting sense of horror and emasculation, however, he soon realizes that the magic is not transforming him into the sort of big, good-looking male 'hunk' which he had originally hoped he would become, but rather into the sort of gorgeous and foxy young 'irresistible' female 'hottie' that he's always been drawn to in the past. . .
