The Colonel and Miss Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice Sequel by Joseph Garland
Imagine Pride and Prejudice with Elizabeth marrying Darcy and Jane marrying Bingley in late 1814. Think of Colonel Fitzwilliam in this. Our story begins on the morning after Darcy and the Colonel arrive at Lady Catherine's in Rosings Park. More precisely, when those two gentlemen are fleeing from sitting with the Collins, Charlotte's father and sister, and, most importantly, Miss Elizabeth Bennet. And his walk with Miss Bennet, telling her of how he saved his friend from a most imprudent match.

The Colonel learns of his misstep and is relieved to be told that Darcy and Elizabeth are to wed. He attends the wedding, and is beginning to settle into civilian life when word comes, in early 1815, that Bonaparte has escaped and is forming an army! The Colonel is called upon to join Wellington's army and is thrust into the Battle of Waterloo.

He is seriously injured. This is the story of how he is nursed back to health thanks to the care of many, including Miss Catherine Bennet. And the story of what happens with them, and with Georgiana Darcy who becomes attached to one of the Colonel's colleagues, a new character named Michael Groeper, a Major who, too, fought at Waterloo.
