The Red Centre: Stories of romance and challenge in the outback. by Emily Hussey
Set against the breath-taking backdrop of Alice Springs and Australia’s rugged heartland, The Red Centre Series follows the journeys of three very different women—each searching for purpose, healing, and love. In The Red Heart, pilot Kathy Sullivan finds turbulence both in the skies and on the ground. Trust Your Heart charts Sarah’s path to new beginnings after loss, while Follow Your Heart peels back the layers of Melissa Gilbert’s guarded heart. Rich with emotion, romance, and the raw beauty of the outback, this series celebrates resilience, second chances, and the power of choosing your own path.

The Red Heart
Kathy Sullivan is excited about taking up her new job as a pilot in Alice Springs. She knew it could be hot in the Red Centre, but Kathy had no idea how much heat she would generate. In the sky, she was in full command, but back on the ground she was in danger of losing her cool. Emotions peak when disaster strikes during a remote flight, forcing confrontation of the underlying causes of conflict and antagonism.

Trust Your Heart
Embracing liquid refreshments a little more exuberantly than usual, Sarah falls off a table and into Joel’s life. She introduces him to life in and around Alice Springs, but secrecy, for whatever reasons, gives rise to more problems than it hides. As water rises around him in the flooding Todd River, Joel is forced to question who he trusts. Is it too late for him to convince Sarah that with him, she has a chance for renewed happiness?

Follow Your Heart
Tragic events in her formative years colour a young woman’s perceptions of her place in the world. Trust and commitment are not concepts she embraces. In a journey that takes her from a remote Australian station, to the high fashion world of Sydney and beyond, Melissa comes to realise that she has choices to make in who she lets into her life, and who she loves.
