Built To Protect by Kerrie Maxon
Simone
My first impression of Ramon Sanchez is that he was hot, kind, and protective.
My second impression is that he was grumpy, rude and best avoided.
When I realize he’s associated with my best friend’s new man and will be a permanent fixture in my life, I’m less than impressed.
But Ramon has a way of wriggling under my skin.
His protective nature, origami gifts, and devilish good looks. I find myself unable to say no.
And when danger comes knocking on my door, I’m glad to have him in my corner. And in my bed.
Although, when I share news that will turn our situationship into something way more serious, he doesn’t take it well.
Ramon might be built to protect, but his words destroy me.
If I can survive being abducted, I can survive this. Right?

Ramon
I’m happy on my own. At least, that’s what I tell myself.
I have my friends. My work. And that’s enough.
Until I met her. Simone Murphy.
Beautiful. Strong-willed. Independent.
However, her determination might be her downfall. And when her actions put her in danger, I am hard-wired to protect what’s mine.
I let her in, share my secrets, offer her my vulnerability.
But she uses it against me in the worst way.
I walk away, determined to put her behind me, but is she my chance at a life I never believed I deserved?
And will I let the ghosts of the past haunt her promise of a future?
