Call It Fête
Lowri Charles
As if single-handedly bringing up a six-year-old isn’t enough of a ballache, I’ve only gone and gotten myself signed up to help with the summer fête. The challenge? To raise as much money as possible so that the school can build a new playground.
Of course I’m late to the kick-off meeting. To punish me, my cranky old headmistress pairs me with Mr Jameson, a bloke that looks as sexy as Clark Kent and is as clever as a librarian. I’m screwed. Not only did I empty a glass of water over him the first time we met, but I manhandled him then shuffled off like a creep.
For the sake of the fête, he gives me another chance, but it doesn't take long for our attention to shift from the stall to each other. When my controlling mum and my piss-taking brothers get involved, things only go from bad to fucking worse.
Can we get our shit together long enough for me to prove I am a good dad for Rory, or will our stall sink?
