I don’t even do relationships…So, how the hell did I wind up engaged?

I was hired to protect this innocent bystander who photographed a mob boss committing murder. It was the DA’s bright idea to say we are engaged, soon to be leaving the country, to force the bad guy to come out in the open.

Now, I’m stuck with a woman who hates being told what to do, in a safehouse that’s been compromised, waiting for the enemy to take their next shot.

The mob should be the only problem but no.
She is. She fights me on everything. She’s reckless. It should make me mad but each time I pull her out of danger, I get closer to breaking the rules.

Those “accidental” electric touches when we’re close.
Those lips I’m so drawn to kiss, that body I long to hold.
She isn’t a job. She’s become my heart’s obsession.

But when the mob kidnaps her, I have to bring her home safely to me.
Nothing else matters.
