Generosity: A Jane Austen Spin-off
Cynthia Joyce Clay

Two of the three servants the newlyweds bring with them to Nos Wyre-on-the-Sea found the circumstances at the vicarage are nothing compared to Mansfield Park, so they quit as soon as they could. One servant, however, Miss Polly Seymour is originally from Nos Wyre-on-the-Sea, and she is very happy to be home again.
All of this means that our Mrs. Fanny Betram must find her way not just in her new marriage to a rather self-indulgent second son, but also to a village where the only other person she knows, besides her husband, is her maid who has decidedly divided loyalties, one to Fanny, the other to her crafty and opportunistic family.
And you will remember the rich in fortunate but unfortunate in matters of the heart Mr. Henry Crawford. He pines for Fanny but is snared in a not all respectable union with Edmund’s own money-grasping sister.
