Free Use Prison by Ashley Tudor
When I booked a spring break trip to the beaches of Puerto Claro with my friends, I expected nothing more than sun, sand, and cocktails. I never imagined I’d be mistaken for a drug smuggler, convicted within a day of landing, and faced with a choice no tourist should ever six years in a standard prison, or six days in something called free use prison.

I chose the six days without knowing the price. There, my virgin body was declared open to guards and inmates alike, every hour of every day. As a small, sheltered blonde girl from California, I doubted I’d survive my first 24 hours. But then another inmate took me under her wing, teaching me how to endure, and even embrace, the constant attention.

What started as punishment became something else entirely, and now I’m not sure freedom could ever compare to the life I’ve discovered inside.
