Rewriting Romance by Nicole Heart, Madison Nicole
Now that summer vacation is over, McKenna Grace is headed back to college to start her junior year. The same school that both of her parents attended, North Carolina State University. She’s also on the women’s hockey team, and she’s ready for the new season to begin. Beckett, her dad, has been teaching her to play hockey since she could walk. She loves the thrill of the chase and the game. Her focus is on hockey and school, and she wants to make her parents proud. She also wants to be an amazing big sister to her siblings, Bentley and Evelyn, as Bentley is starting his sophomore year and Evelyn is starting her freshman year. McKenna wants nothing more than to follow in her father’s footsteps when it comes to hockey.
Rowan Beckett is your definition of a playboy, just like his dad was when he was in college. He’s the captain of North Carolina State University’s undefeated hockey team. He plans on taking his team to the playoffs and the Frozen Four. Not only this season, Eastwood college students transfer to North Carolina, including the hockey team. Rowan’s team isn’t thrilled to be sharing the ice with their number one enemy, Eastwood, but they need to make the best of things or no one gets to play this season. It becomes very heated on and off the ice.
McKenna and Rowan have always been inseparable since they were both two years old and grew up together because of their parents. They continued to be best friends all through elementary, middle, and high school. When they both started college freshman year, they drifted apart even though every summer their families took their yearly trip to Charleston, South Carolina, to spend the weekend at the ocean. Despite knowing each other for as long as they have, there has never been much of an attraction between them. Will McKenna finally see Rowan as an object of affection, or will they continue to be just best friends?
