I Hate Christmas
Tracey Donahue
What could be a better assignment than photographing firemen with kittens for the Cat Rescue Association of Cape Cod's annual fundraiser? Nothing. Except it’s a Christmas themed shoot. And Caroline hates Christmas.
She’s surrounded by fake Santas and green garland and if that isn’t bad enough, Mr. December walks in wearing half a Santa suit and singing Christmas songs–in August! She’s hoping to get the shots she needs and get out before the migraine that is making the edges of her vision blurry completely takes over. No such luck.
The last things she remembers before everything goes black is 1: This is embarrassing. 2: She should have known something like this would happen. 3: She hates Christmas.
Mr. December–Hunter becomes her unexpected hero in more ways than one and for the next four months they try and fail to make plans to see each other again.
Until December, when everything in Caroline's universe seems to fall into place. She finds herself driving back to Hunter’s small town where everything is decked out for the holidays. And it turns out that Hunter is the most festive of all…
