Volume 3 begins where volume 2 left off. Ellie learns of Meredith's deceit after Meredith introduces her to her parents. Ellie's visions start haunting her, making her fear her future. She decides to run in an attempt to save Azrael, and avoid the fate her visions predict.

Volume 4 begins were volume 3 left off. Hayden's news terrifies Ellie. She does not know what to do, her fear of losing Azrael is almost too much for her to handle. Lucian is a continuing threat to Azrael and Ellie. A new threat, Calvin, is also looming over Ellie. Ellie struggles to figure out her path, even though it seems her fate has already been determined.

Volume 5 picks up where volume 4 left off. Ellie's world is continually changing as she tries to adjust to her new reality. She faces new dangers as more people learn of her pregnancy. Lucian is posing an unusual problem that Ellie never expected, and an unexpected event leads to Ellie's life being turned upside down.

Volume 6 begins where volume 5 left off. The birth of Ellie and Azrael's child leads to a surprise. Ellie loses her way after her baby's birth. She tries to find a way to cope with everything that has happened. Lucian becomes determined to help her find her place; while Azrael's commitment to her wavers when he decides to do what is best for their child.

Ellie is struggling with her life as a vampire. She fears Meredith's prediction will become a reality. She wants to repair her relationship with Azrael, but Azrael feels she isn't the same woman he fell in love with. Azrael is doing everything he can to keep Ellie and Angelica safe. An attack leads to Azrael and Hayden being captured and held captive. Ellie finds herself trying to defy Lucian; so she can find Azrael; even though she knows she will be putting herself in danger.
