She waited for the small hand of Ms. Jones to rest on her shoulder like it did every time a situation like this came around, but the hand that touched her was not small. She turned and stared right at a broad chest covered in a black t-shirt sporting a skull with fire engulfing it. She stared at it so long that she almost forgot there was and head and neck connected to that very masculine chest. She slowly looked up to see lightly tanned skin on a powerful neck. Her gaze continued on revealing a strong chin up to a full bottom lip with a slightly thinner one on top. Those lips were curved slightly up at one corner, which looked more like a smirk then an actual smile. Still her eyes continued their journey up the stranger’s face. A straight nose and two piercing hazel eyes were the last things she saw. Those eyes felt as if they were looking through her as if staring all the way to her soul. She had never seen eyes like those in her life on a human. They reminded her more of the wild big cats she sometimes saw on Animal Planet. The stranger’s eyes never wavered from her own. His eyes were so light hazel that some people might have called them the color of warm honey with flecks of light blue and dark green scattered though out them. His eyes were hypnotizing her and she could not bring herself to care. The spell he seemed to be weaving around her made her feel, for the first time since the accident, like she was normal and not some freak with scars on her face and neck. She saw his face flex and her eyes jumped to his lips. The stranger was talking to her. She shook her head and focused diligently on what he was trying to tell her. She watched as his lips slowed then stopped all together. She looked back up at his eyes, but they were no longer looking at her, but over her shoulder. She might have been distracted when he had first started talking to her but she was able to make out one word that passed through his lips. “Kyle,” the stranger had said. That was this stranger’s name. less
