A young priest deals with the aftermath of an act of hate that has him once again questioning his faith and vocation. Then his past lands on his hearth and old feelings resurface. Can Anton reconcile his feelings for Karl with his vows? Can Karl move past the pain and degradation he suffered while they were apart and find his way to a new life?

A priest holds an axe over the chains of a second man… a prisoner, preparing to strike. Do these two men know each other, maybe from childhood? Why did they go down separate paths and how did they end up here?

This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's " Love Has No Boundaries " event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.
