Through the Looking Glass by Rebecca Lorino Pond
On the run from the man who murdered her parents, Isobel hides in Scotland only to find herself transported to alternate world. The prophecy of the fairies says she is the one to win the heart of Aslog's lord and the one to bring down the evil ruler in the south. Isobel doesn't want to be part of any prophecy and only wants to be sent home. Her life had been turned upside down with her parents' deaths, hiding from a madman, and now she is being forced to marry a man from a world not her own.

Jakar is the ruler of North Aslog. He doesn't believe in the prophecy of the fairies and believes Isobel is a spy sent by Tulloch, the ruler in South Aslog, to gain information on how to bring destroy his rule in the north. He doesn't want to marry this stranger any more than she wants to marry him but when he is hard pressed to face the truth, there is nothing he can do but marry Isobel and protect her from the two madmen that want her dead.

Can his cold heart and suspicions of Isobel be overcome? Can Isobel live in a world not her own? Can they come together in order to reunite two halves of a land that was once one?
