Nobody was seriously injured in the apartment fire, and the irony was, that the tragedy created an opportunity for the lives of Cheryl and her future lover to come together.

Cheryl can't get the dog's owner out of her mind, and a few days later she creates a circumstance in hopes of running into Tina so that she can have the opportunity to ask her out. Cheryl's plan works and the women soon find themselves in a whirlwind lesbian romance.
