Lady Araminta Beresford was quite capable of taking care of herself. After roaming eastern Europe and Syria-often unchaperoned!-she had little patience, upon returning to London, with the conservative dictates of the ton, and even less tolerance for the overbearing orders from a devilishly handsome family friend.
