Bolt of Trust by Cerys du Lys
Solace's first impressions upon entering the monstrous host's city, Runehaven, are anything but normal. As the only human in a city occupied by wisps, gnomes, ogres, demons, and more, she's definitely out of place.

Except they're nice to her. While most everyone in Glenwood berated her, so far the monsters of Runehaven have treated her pleasantly. Is it because she's the soon-to-be bride of their Demon King, Bastion? Perhaps it's some trick to catch her off guard? Or is it something else entirely?

Solace wants to give in and accept their kindness, but is that a good idea? The rumors she heard in Glenwood still flit through her mind and she knows what will happen if she lets herself go, if she allows herself to fall in love so easily. Will her desire for someone to trust slip through, or can she remain watchful and guarded like she should?

And, while Bastion seems alright, what of the others in the monstrous host? Even if only half of the rumors are true, well...

It's probably best not to think about it.
