Hear Me: Faeries Lost by Grace Brannigan
Hear Me ~ Book 3 : Heir to high lord of the faeries, Kirklas has managed to escape the living hell he's been exiled to for the last 10 human years. Long ago Kirklas' stepmother banished him from Aisywel, his beloved faerie home. He managed to survive the darkness of Dinorma, and now having escaped; he burns with revenge. He wants to find Clare, the stepmother he'd adored, and make her answer for his exile.

When he finally manages to return to Aisywel, nothing is the same. The magnificent place of his birth is devastated; Clare and his father are missing and his beloved homeland is uneasy with the energy of rebels. The faeries have fled or are in hiding and they're expecting him to step up to his rightful position as high lord of the faeries and turn Aisywel back into a sweet faerie realm.

Kirklas isn't interested in helping Aisywel recover from a rebellion, and to make matters even worse, the human Sara is complicating his intentions for revenge.

Sara hitch-hiked a ride through a faerie portal and now she's stuck in Aisywel. She's tough, streetwise, and hell bent on making sure Kirklas does the right thing by his devastated homeland, whether he wants to or not.

Kirklas sees glimpses of something else behind Sara's tough exterior. Something he'd yearned for time ago when he was younger and idealistic. But Kirklas feels he's not worthy of a happy ending because of a secret he holds, a secret that will blow apart any chance his homeland has of healing the rift between faerie, the warring rebels and humans. It's a secret even Kirklas himself doesn't want to probe too deeply, but eventually, it will fester until it can no longer be ignored, perhaps taking him to a bitter end.
