Cassandra Dumont lives in New Orleans, Louisiana where she cares for her elderly and ill parents. Needing to find a way to make ends meet, she discovers that she has a talent for reading fortunes for the many residents and tourists to this mysterious and magical city.

When her parents die within a year of each other, Cassandra finds herself unmarried at the age of 28 with no real prospects in sight. That’s when she sees an ad for Coast to Coast Connections. Upon closer inspection, she sees that it is a mail order bride agency. Soon, she is on her way west to Oregon to become the wife of Noah Montgomery.

Noah is a widower having lost both his wife and child at once. He knows that he will never love again so he gives the agency a try. In no time at all, he has connected with Cassandra Dumont and contracted to bring her west to become his wife.

Once these two set eyes upon each other, all bets are off. There might just be a chance for them to find happiness with each other after all, unless Cassandra’s former profession comes to light.
