Henry Parsons is gradually adjusting to his new life as a werewolf. Through his training with Paxton, he begins to learn how to better control the wolf within and gain more courage in general. As his confidence grows through the personal training sessions with Paxton, so does his affection and desire for the alpha.

When Henry is finally ready for the next step, he is invited out into the wilderness to meet the rest of Paxton's pack. While embracing the wild with the pack, he discovers a side of him that threatens to undo every shred of hope he had of living peacefully as a werewolf. Yet, things only gets worse when Lucas, the alpha's brother, later springs news upon them that endangers their very lives.

As Henry continues to wage war against the human and wolf side of him, will his relationship with Paxton end in ruins? Or will he learn how to stand up and fight alongside of his alpha to prove his loyalty and love for him – no matter what?

Excerpt:

“Do you want me to drop you off at your place?”

Henry frowned at the change of topic and demeanor, but nodded. “Yeah, that'd be great, thank you.”

Again, silence fell between them as the city began to swallow them up whole. The memory of running through the snowy woods with Paxton just hours before seemed like a fantasy.

When they arrived outside of Henry's apartment building, Henry exited the car and moved to the back to grab his bag. As he did, Paxton walked around to the back as well, leaning against the car to gaze at him.

“What is it?” Henry asked, tilting his head slightly as he tried to decipher the look.

“Nothing,” Paxton said with a shrug as he glanced away.

“What? No, quit that and tell me what's on your mind,” Henry frowned. “You want me to be pointed, and I expect the same from you.”

Paxton raised a brow but chuckled. “I... was just hoping that the camping trip didn't scare you off.”

Henry's eyes widened. Wait, is Paxton afraid of me running away? Henry thought to himself, so many thoughts and emotions swirling through his mind at that thought. “It-It was... a bit disturbing but I'll get over it,” he assured Paxton, offering him a little smile. “Your friends are great, too, even if I'll need a bit of time to get used to them, too. I was never very good at socializing.”

“I think you're doing great,” Paxton smiled, his dark eyes warm. When Paxton straightened up to squarely face him, Henry gazed at him in return with warm cheeks.

Is he going to kiss me? Henry wondered, his fingers curled around the strap of his backpack.
