Baby Grand II: The Conspiracy by Bill Ellingsen
In this second novel of the series, Kevin Johnson, his girlfriend Desiree Chantelle, and both sets of grandparents prepare to launch his racing career in a Baby Grand race car, not to be confused with the 1927 Miller dubbed "the Baby Grand" that they worked on all summer. They’re doing it on the sly, though, so as not to add stress to his on-the-verge-of-divorce parents, which causes Kevin a little stress of his own. But his biggest concern is whether he's up to the challenge. Doing impressive things on a grassy field with a battered BMW 3 Series is one thing. Competing on a racetrack full of cars is another. He doesn’t want to let anyone down, especially Desiree. Hopefully he inherited more than facial features from his great-grandfather Paul "Throttle" Johnson.
