As the well informed reader may remember (if not, we may refer you to "Two Pistols for Clara"), Nell Barnham has been abducted by the malignant Marquis of Malincourt. This occurred much to her delight.
Malincourt tries his best to behave most gentlemanly towards his hostage, not having at all planned to return to his wicked ways of yonder, but Nell will have none of it.
What is a man to do?
Mr. Wimple, and some minor characters such as General Cartwright and the Earl of Darlington are in hot pursuit of the escapees. Well, rather.. or perhaps, not so much.
