Bear Unchained by Stella Hayne
Duke has had a rough year. Ever since his long term boyfriend, Clay, dumped him, Duke's been an inconsolable wreck. His buddy Mike, another bear, has always been there for him, and hates seeing his best friend grieve like this.

What's worse is, Clay left Duke for Duke's boss, Dan, compounding the pain.

When Halloween rolls around, Duke can't find it in himself to perk up and enjoy the Portland revelry. After Mike convinces him to costume up and head to the party thrown by the bear club each year, can Duke get over his lost love and meet someone new?

EXCERPT:
“I will never be back to the man that I used to be and to be honest with you I don't think that I would want to be. That guy did not have all of the experiences and new friends that I have. He didn't live in this town, he didn't have a great apartment, and most of all he didn't have a purpose in life like I have now. In the year and half that I have been here I have found a new lease on life. As for what would make me truly happy. I guess the only answer that I have for that would be to have a shot at being with the person that I have had a major crush on secretly ever since I walked into Monahan's bar that first time.” Mitch said. Duke turned and looked at him.

“Really, who...No don't tell me. I didn't know that you had the secret hots for one of the guys. I had no clue whatsoever and I promise you that they don't whoever they are. If they did the secret wouldn't be one for long.” Mitch knew that what he was saying was true. That was one of the reasons that he had went out of his way to make sure that he never did or said anything that would remotely give the impression that he wanted nothing more than to have a shot at making Duke his own.

“No, no big fella, I ain't saying. As you said it wouldn't be a secret for long. All I can do is tell you that ever since I walked into that bar and met this person, I have longed for them. As I have gotten to know them more and more over the months since I have grown to love them and every time that I see them I lust for them so badly that I go home and my manhood hurts from the swelling I have had to suffer through. It's not just lust, though. I have grown to know them as being one of the kindest, most gentle, most loving and most incredible people that I have ever met. I think that they are as perfect as a person as they are physically perfect. I would love to tell them that I think that I am in love with them, but I can't.” Mitch said as he stared off toward the dance floor.

“Why not? You afraid that they don't feel the same about you?” Duke asked in response his curiosity peaked to its apex as his mind raced through the guys who were a part of the bear community and who might have been there that first night when Mitch had come into Monahan's Levi’s and Boots Bar for the bear beer bust. There were not a lot of guys there that night because of the big thunderstorm that was going on.
