Never Trust A Shady Chick by P. Dotson, Artessa Michele
The people closest to you are the ones that hurt you the most. Seventeen year old Shay is forced to learn the hard way about the truth behind that old adage.

From preschool to high school Alize, Kimore, Rima, and Shay were inseparable. Unfortunately, some bonds are meant to be broken.

Alize appoints herself the leader of this so called group of friends. Of all the girls Alize is the most fortunate, but money can’t buy happiness. The expensive clothes, and expensive bags can’t compensate for the misery she is forced to suffer at home. As the animosity in her heart grows so does her jealousy towards her friend Shay.
Shay, the quiet and timid beauty, only wants to be liked and accepted in a society where labels are important, size matters, and the turn up is real. So where would she be without her friends; her ride or dies? Feeling the pressure to be liked and to fit in, Shay allows herself to become Alize’s ‘fun dummy’. Until one day Alize takes things to far with her shady antics forcing Kimore and Rima to choose sides.
