Wild Oats: A Regency Valentine Short Story by Alicia Quigley
Miss Eveline Thwaite, a clever and often caustic, but always outspoken spinster lives with her married sister, Fanny, as she is a spinster of nine-and-twenty. Her quiet morning reading is interrupted by her sister’s announcement: Eveline’s niece, Charlotte, is to be married to Crispin Royston, Baron Hawkinge, a rake of quite some reputation.

Eveline cannot abide the thought of Charlotte, whose heart is elsewhere, marrying a man solely for the purpose of preventing her family’s bankruptcy. After speaking to Charlotte, however, it seems the young girl’s mind is firmly made. Not one to stay silent in such a situation, Eveline pays Crispin a visit.

Will Eveline succeed in preventing Charlotte’s loveless marriage? Will she get a Valentine’s surprise of her own? Find out in the slightly steamy, very romantic Wild Oats.
