When Isobel McCullogh finds out that a highlander raid on Dunn Hill is imminent, she is terrified to say the least. Her bartender boss, Duncan assures her that he will ensure her safety, but that does little to quell Isobel’s fears. Even her own father can do little to give her peace of mind and in an effort to be prepared she sleeps with her clothes on and a sword at her bedside.
A sword at Isobel’s bedside proves little match, however, when a highlander scout slips in through her bedroom window one night. Shocked by more than just his appearance, Isobel soon discovers that there are some benefits to a highlander turning up in your bedroom. The only problem is that after she offers up her innocence to him, the scout takes it and disappears in to the night.
