The Meridian by Nikki Landis
My life has always been in danger. As the chosen one, my fate leaves me vulnerable, painting a target on my back for the enemy. Now that the truth is exposed and I have come face to face with my tormentor, I must find a way to defeat him, before he finds me and finishes the job he started.

My Guardian is not my only champion. Another has surfaced to protect me and competes for my heart, complicating the already dangerous path I tread until I must choose. How can I make that fateful choice, deciding between the man who will own my heart forever, and the man who will certainly be devastated by the outcome? Worse, how do I continue to survive and thwart the enemy, hoping I live long enough to fulfill a destiny I still struggle to understand?

I am stuck, plunged in indecision, my fate hanging by a thread, standing in...the meridian. And darkness is coming...

Find out in book 3 of the compelling series that all started with The Guardian.

     An excerpt from The Meridian...

He ran his finger along my jawline until it met my chin, and then with two fingers, tilted it, ever so slightly up, until my eyes met his. "There's a place in your heart, so deep, so intimate, that no one has ever been there," he whispered as his finger slowly caressed the length of my neck, "take me there." His lips met mine, gently, the press a promise of many more, and I almost shivered. "Take me there and let me put down roots, so deep, that nothing can ever remove me."
Tears filled my eyes. How could I resist him? How could I walk away from a love like this? A love that consumed me entirely? A love that filled my soul, that embraced me, that held me tight and sheltered me against the world?
"You are already there," I almost sobbed as I spoke, "oh God, you are already there."
His hand slid up my neck, resting against my jaw, while his thumb caressed my cheek and then slowly drifted to my mouth. He leaned in and kissed me, so much passion in that kiss, so much heat, that I opened to him, just a little more, until there was nothing left. I was stripped bare, my heart wide open, and he claimed it, with every inch of his touch and every press of his lips.
      I was his.
      Now, tomorrow, and forevermore.
It did not matter that he held secrets. It did not matter if the future was uncertain and danger lurked around every corner. All that mattered, all that I cared about, was the man in front of me, the man who held me tight and cherished me, the man who refused to give up and let me go, whose patience and unending passion completely owned me.
"We are just two imperfect people who refuse to give each other up. Is that not the point?"        He asked, holding my head in place so I could not look away, breaking his kiss. "We can have it all. We do have it all. Let everything else go Rhiannon. It does not matter, all that matters...is you and me."
      I knew that.
"Yes, only me and you," I agreed.
"Love like this. Like what we have, is rare. Do not let it fall through your fingers, grasp it tight and do not let go, not for anything, because mine will be holding just as tight.
