May's story is the prequel to the Montana Mail Order Brides Series. May trims hats in a dress shop in Albany, New York and is vey close with her sister Jane. Jane is in a serious relationship and about to start a new life. After a failed attempt at socializing at the church dance, May returns home discouraged and feeling alone.

May is surprised and confused to get a letter from a man in Montana, since she didn't place an advertisement in the Matrimonial Times. Their letters grow in importance to her, especially because Jane marries Walter (the brother of Leah from Book 1 in the series).

Can May find joy moving out west to start a new life with James? What's involved in the challenges for a young woman locating out west so far away from her family? Does it make sense for her to risk he familiar routines for something completely unknown?

This is a stand-alone story without a cliffhanger and a clean wholesome romance. Note that this is the prequel to the Montana Mail Order Brides Series which begins with Mail Order Bride Leah. The books can be read in any order and they are available free for members of Kindle Unlimited. Each novella can be read by itself independently.
