Short story. Kaia and Xander were genetically engineered by the Gemini Project to always be together, to fight side by side as supernatural assassins and to someday produce children naturally endowed with their own particular gifts. But when the powers that be who created them turned on their own people, the symbiotic lovers joined the rebellion, and Xander, the leader of the fight, was captured.
