Mail Order Bride: The Bride Rescued by The Indian by Samantha HOPE
Will Emily ever escape the clutches of oppressive guardians?

Emily Carlson just received the most devastating news of her life: her beloved father is dead. His death was sudden and shocking, rocking her world nearly upside down. Moreover, her step-mother is now her sole guardian. For other girls, this would not be so tragic, but for Emily, this is just more terrible news. Her step-mother Gwen is cruel and unfeeling, treating Emily more like a slave than a family member. Despite their shared grief, life at the Carlson home grows unbearable for Emily as Gwen subjects her to hard labor and little sympathy.

During a brief escape into town, Emily mistakenly picks up a copy of Matrimonial Times, a mail-order bride newspaper. At first, she is embarrassed, but as she browses the advertisements in the periodical, she sees a way out of her unfortunate situation. One ad in particular piques her interest: a man in his thirties named Trent is looking for a wife with whom to share life on his ranch. Emily deliberates on this life-altering decision for days, but ultimately decides that anything is better than the life she leads now.

However, Emily will soon find that life can be so much worse.
