I'm tired of life's everyday drama - work, living in the city, the never-ending sea of losers in the dating pool - all of it. So, I decided to take a scenic drive up to Montreal to visit my older sister. She's always been able to help me figure things out when I'm feeling lost.

With my luck, of course, my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere - upstate Vermont - miles from the nearest town. I have no cell reception, nothing to eat or drink, and a huge winter storm is quickly rolling in. With no one else on the road, I cry myself to sleep, fearing that I may freeze to death on the side of the highway.

I left city life behind years ago. When I caught my girlfriend cheating on me with my boss, I knocked him out, told her it was over and left Wall Street forever. I'd already banked enough money to last me 10 lifetimes, so I bought a big chunk of land in Vermont and built myself a house. Now I keep to myself, mostly. Am I lonely? Sure, but I'd rather be alone forever than get my heart broken into a million pieces again.

I've sworn off women and, up until now, I've been able to control myself. But when I meet Brooke, slowly freezing to death in the driver's seat of her car, an instant attraction ignites. With the storm getting worse and the nearest town dozens of miles away, Brooke has no choice but to spend the night with me in my secluded home.

It's been years since the last time I was with a woman. I promised myself that I'd stay away from all women so I could never be hurt again. But Brooke is so charming, sweet, and downright gorgeous that I won't be able to keep my hands off her for long. I don't know how long I can hold out.
