Elizabeth Bennet finds herself in Rosings with Mr. Darcy at the Easter holiday. One fateful day, he seeks her at her cousin's cottage and makes a most heartfelt, though misguided, proposal. The lady, terribly offended by his words, sends him away and plans to leave Kent for Hertfordshire as soon as possible. Her friend Charlotte falls ill and Elizabeth stays to nurse her back to health only to give in to her desires when Mr. Darcy visits the parsonage one last time.
