Felicity, only daughter of Baronet Edward Gage is a spirited and intelligent young noblewoman who never planned to wed. She wants to live life on her terms, not the ones that her noble station in life have laid out for her. Felicity quickly learns that life doesn't always go according to plan. A sick father and the threat of her family becoming bankrupt both throw Felicity's plans for a loop.
At her mother's urging, Felicity agrees to the possibility of marriage to a man she has barely met who she definitely has no love for whatsoever. Surprisingly, she sees that the future may not be as grim and terrible as she had first believed.
Will Felicity find love in the midst of all of the uncertainty and worry? Or will her plans for joy be destroyed before she has the chance to see them all the way to the end? Only time will tell.
