James Decker knows his way around a ranch. He has been his brother's right hand man since their parents retired and moved to Arizona. After a near catastrophic accident a year ago, James had to give up his aspirations to the title and concentrate on his father's ranch.

After a humiliating truth sends Vicki into hiding, she finds herself roaming the streets of Peace, remembering the quaint little town from one of her touring trips through the state. A lot had changed since her last visit, but she hoped the people were still friendly enough to welcome her among them.

That is, until James Decker crashes into her—quite literally—and immediately assumes the worst of her. Making matters worse, he has the ears of the City Council, who will decide the fate of her application for the beauty shop she hopes open in their little town.
