Lacy Callaghan  has had it up to here with the CORANOS invaders - and men, in general.  When she’s hustled out of the Texas Work Camp, she thinks she's been reassigned, but the rogue Doranos have other plans for her.  When Lacy’s kidnapper’s scheme gets derailed, she faces certain death.  Rescued by pirates, she finds herself in the care of the infamous Doranos Tracker, Bram.  By the time she's back on her feet, the pirates have traded her freedom to the surly Bram in exchange for completing a dangerous mission.  If he fails, she’ll be sold to the highest bidder.
Bram belongs to no house, no family will claim the half-breed and he’s not welcome in any system.  He found refuge when Commander Vank D’Corian recruited him to an elite squadron of Warriors.  When their ship collapsed upon entering a wormhole, Bram saved his friend and Commander’s life.  Vank repaid him by leaving him to rot on the pirate ship, the Nom’magata .  Awoken from stasis, Bram has two choices; he can help the pirates evade a CORANOS assassin and earn the life of the Earther, Lacy, or he can die, thereby, sentencing the beautiful female to a life of slavery.
