I'm Octavia Alexander, a modern-day librarian turned ancient Roman supernatural gladiatrix. I've won one tournament and only have eight battles left until I can earn my freedom and hopefully return to a life of hiding between bookshelves back in the modern day. I'm not totally unprepared, I have a deck of cards that with a single touch come to life to perform my bidding. I also have my childhood friends now apparently my soulmates Azar, Cobalt, Nevada, and Raiden by my side. These darn dragons tend to hoard their treasure and want to protect it and they consider me their treasure. But I'm not the kind of girl that needs protecting, if they think they can keep me from protecting all of us, they have another thing coming. The tournament this time around is even more fierce, we battle powerful dragons, phoenixes, and banshees to the death. Our team is split and it looks like the Concilium is going to snatch our freedom right from our grasps. I'm starting to want to end this tournament once and for all, I just need to get us free first.
