Amish Betrayal (Amish Romance): Book 2
Esther Weaver

With no sign of Mark, Elizabeth gets angry and marches to his house to seek answers. But when she gets there, something isn't right. His animals are locked up, there's a half eaten breakfast rotting on the table and a chair is turned over.
Elizabeth tends to his animals, as he used to do for them when her father died, as she tries to figure out what happened. There is no sign of Mark anywhere.
She must tell her mother. Surely it would be a relief to know that he didn't stand her up but Elizabeth is shocked by her mother's reaction. Elizabeth is told to stop telling lies!
Her next recourse is to the Bishop, but he also dismisses her concerns as being an overactive imagination. Jacob, the Bishop's son, is there and Elizabeth enlists his help in the search to find out what happened to Mark.
While Elizabeth is gone, Miriam is curious. She is afraid that Mark is missing. Who would take him and why? She visits his home and sees that Elizabeth was telling the truth making Miriam wonder how well she knew him at all. While she tries to figure out the man she was about to marry, Miriam is knocked out and kidnapped.
